22 Weeks!

This has been a crazy and busy summer so far. I can really tell a difference in how much my belly is growing every week. The most exciting day of the summer so far was when we got to find out what we're having.

The day we went to the doctor for the sonogram, we were both a little nervous, but at the same time completely excited to finally find out who this little person is so that we could stop saying "the baby" and instead say "he or she." Jess and I had both previously had dreams that we were having a little girl, but the morning of the sonogram I woke up thinking it might be a boy. In the waiting room I leaned over to Jess and said, "I really think that it is going to be a boy" and he just said, "me too." So the lady began the sonogram by looking at all of the important parts to make sure all of the organs looked good. After about 15 minutes of this she finally she said, "Are you ready to know?!" We both of course shouted out "YES!" Without any hesitation, she said, "It's a baby girl!" I was a little in shock and I watched the color disappear from Jess' face. It was great! It was the best surprise! The doctor said that she got a pretty good look because she was folded like a taco with her feet up by her face. After the appointment, we instantly went shopping and got to finally start buying stuff for our little girl! It was really funny when we were shopping, because everything I was looking at made Jess now concerned that it "wasn't girly enough." I just like yellows and greens and I tried to reassure Jess that just because we are having a girl it does not mean that we can only buy pink! His response was, "Well I don't know anything about little girls!" He will definitely learn. :) Now he can't go into a store without wanting to look in the baby section and he says everything is "the cutest thing he has ever seen."

Right after the appointment we called my parents to tell them because they were out of town and my mom wanted to know instantly! They were so excited to find out! Since we got to tell Jess' family in person, we wanted to tell them in a fun way. We decided to make a cake with either blue or pink in the middle for them to cut into. I made the cake (with strawberry cake of course) and we headed over to his parents house. I tried to make the cake all cute and fancy, but I did not take into account the fact that we could be bringing the cake outside in the 105 degree weather. As we were riding in the car, we were watching all of the cute decorations I made melt off of the sides. By the time we got there, the cake looked completely ridiculous. As soon as we got there, everyone was ready to cut the cake so we went ahead. It was a great reaction because they were so surprised and happy to add a little girl to the family since she would be the first Williams girl since his aunt!
We couldn't be more excited about having our little girl and we just can't wait to meet her!
