We got there around 3 o'clock, checked in, and waited forever. Ironically, this has been a trend over the last 3 months.
First step, pee test. I was sitting right outside the bathroom, likely playing Angry Birds, waiting for my beautiful bride to exit the lavish clinic bathroom. Lindsey finished up and we waited for a few minutes for the nurse to return and escort us to our roomy suite.
After a few minutes, the nurse poked her head out of the little lab area and said, "Lindsey, do you want to come in here for a minute?" We walked into the lab and she had us look in the sink. Peering over the edge, we saw a pregnancy test sitting in a little plastic cup. I preface this next part with the following - our nurse was a large, sweet, black lady with an even sweeter up-do. The next words out of her mouth were, "Girlfriend, you pregnant!"
Thinking we were coming in for a checkup, we then found ourselves rushing around the building trying to squeeze in blood work and an ultrasound before the office closed for the day. It was quite a unique rush of excitement that I'm not sure either of us have experienced before.
This has been an incredibly hard secret to keep for the last few months and we're very excited to share it with all of you. We're due November 17th and couldn't be more excited! That said, keep checking back for updates...
