18 Weeks

These eighteen weeks have already gone by so fast! I am still feeling good, but this heat is exhausting. I definitely can't stay outside as long as normal and I get worn out so much faster!
I love having my new bump, but it has presented a challenge when finding a swimsuit. We're heading to the beach and I am definitely not brave enough to rock a bikini pregnant!

We find out if it is a boy or a girl on July 1st. It is so hard to wait! It would be really exciting to wait until the end, but I want to start decorating the room and buying things. Neither of us have a feeling that it is a boy or girl because it would probably be the opposite of whatever we thought. We both actually had dreams that it is a girl, which is interesting, but only time will tell if that is true! On a side note, in Jess' dream, he said that we had named our sweet little girl, Lava. That being said, we'll probably try to finalize our name after we find out what it's going to be. Lava will not be in the running.

I'm pretty sure I felt the baby moving for the first time last week. It's hard to tell because it really just feels like fluttering. I'm excited for it to get more obvious as the weeks pass!

16 Weeks!

It has been a while since our first post because things have been a little hectic with Jess starting a new job and me finishing up the school year. We are finally slowing down and I will be home all summer to update more often! Things so far have been really good. I can't complain because I honestly have had an easy pregnancy so far. I am slowly getting to that stage of actually looking pregnant and not like I ate a huge lunch! I just bought my first pair of maternity shorts. I have been reluctant, but I decided that it was time. They are honestly incredibly comfortable. I just have to make sure all of my shirts are long enough to cover the horrible flesh colored band at the top that makes it look like I am wearing a fake stomach! I did have a lady at the gym very timidly ask me if I was pregnant. It was great because I could see the relief on her face when I said yes! That was pretty brave of her because that could have been way embarrassing for us both if I wasn't!
The one thing that I have had trouble with so far is sleeping comfortably. I broke down and bought a Snoogle. Best money I have ever spent! For those that don't know what a Snoogle is, it is a huge C shaped pillow they make for pregnant women, but I love it so much that I will continue its use indefinitely. The Snoogle has been one of my favorite new things and probably one of Jess' most hated. It takes up a huge portion of the bed. The combination of that and a cat who won't leave my side and a dog makes for an interesting night of sleep. Every morning I hear the complaint that "we need a bigger bed." This is hilarious because neither of us are big people, but our bed has become pretty ridiculous.
I have not really been having many cravings besides being hungry right before I go to bed (not the best time to eat, which I am aware of). Jess will say that the most classic example of my nightly cravings was one night when I was trying to go to sleep and I was just complaining that I was hungry. Jess asked me what I wanted and all I could think of was queso, grilled cheese and nachos.
We will upload our weekly pictures soon. We have been taking a weekly picture since 9 weeks to remember the changes. It is unbelievable how you can tell a difference each week! We are still so excited and thankful. We will write again soon with pictures and updates.
